Responsibilities:

  • The Director of Risk Management will manage a team of two and report into the Chief Compliance Officer
  • You will be responsible for the leadership, innovation, and management necessary to identify, evaluate, mitigate, transfer, and monitor the Company’s various exposures to risk. This position will oversee and strategically direct all risk management-related activities. This position provides leadership, expertise, and guidance to align, coordinate, and share best practices, processes, and programs across the Company
  • Direct the Company’s risk management programs, including property and casualty insurance programs, claims management, vendor insurance oversight, and corporate insurance certificate handling
  • Ensures appropriate risk assessments are conducted, and corresponding follow-ups are implemented
  • Negotiate and secure the most favorable terms, conditions, and pricing for all corporate insurance coverage, excluding employee benefits
  • Monitor coverage limits, confirm coverages, and manage additions and deletions of locations as needed
  • Ensure all insurance coverage remains current and meets Company requirements
  • Procure all required bonds, including bid and performance bonds, and warranty bonds
  • Oversee, audit, and conduct claims reviews of the Third-Party Claims Administrator (TPA) responsible for Workers Compensation claims, ensuring timely processing and favorable outcomes for employees and the Company
  • Manage all claims for other insured lines of coverage; coordinate claims settlements with insurers and claims adjustors
  • Review and approve all vendor insurance certificates for Company entities
  • Oversee the issuance of certificates of insurance for all group companies; ensure compliance with certificate holders terms and contractual requirements
  • Manage the Company insurance captive program

Requirements:

  • Essential education: Bachelor’s degree (preferably in risk management, finance, business management, or related field)
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in risk management
  • Associate in Risk Management (ARM) or Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designation preferred; or willingness to obtain the designation within the first 12 months of employment
  • Experience preparing comprehensive insurance summaries and cost comparisons for management
  • Experience providing expert guidance on contractual insurance requirements for corporate contracts
