Location: Dallas, TX
Flexibility: Remote working / hybrid opportunity with regular domestic travel in the first year

We are representing a national non-profit organization in their search for a Managing Director, Compliance.

Responsibilities:
• Conducting an organization-wide compliance and ethics risk assessment and subsequent development, implementation and operation of a lean, efficient and sustainable program which is compliant with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures
• Collaborate with senior leaders such as the CEO, Chief Financial Officer, General Counsel, and board leadership on a regular basis, ensuring alignment with organization goals as a whole and two-way support as needed
• Ensure that the compliance and ethics program is efficient in identifying, preventing, detecting, and reporting noncompliance, and provides for effective and efficient operations in a collaborative manner
• Developing an enhanced compliance and ethics training and communications program, including follow up data analytics to measure ongoing effectiveness and ensure positive change in the organization
• Responsible for ensuring that internal controls are in place to ensure preparation and accurate presentation of financial reports
• Ensure there is an active approach to reduce the operational risk profile of the organization, reviewing internal and external risk assessment reports, creating and executing a plan and monitoring effectiveness
• Develop and maintain a written compliance plan, present to the Audit Committee and executive team and provide updates on progress and implementation of plan and an evaluation of the plan’s effectiveness
• Serve as a primary stakeholder and designated liaison for external regulatory interactions
• Monitor performance of the compliance program and related activities on a continuing basis, taking appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness as requirements evolve
• Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develop/implement corrective action plans
• Respond to alleged violations of compliance-related rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards of conduct by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures as necessary
• Create and foster a culture of transparency and support for whistleblowers and suspected fraud reporting

Requirements:
• Essential Education: Bachelor’s degree; Desirable Education: Master’s degree or JD
• Compliance Experience: You must bring significant senior / executive level compliance leadership experience, including demonstrable exposure to improving and streamlining compliance programs
• You will ideally have some exposure to compliance work in the non-profit space and the challenges and tasks associated with that
