Regional Compliance Officer, Global Medical Device, Naples, FL

We are representing a global medical device company in their search for a Regional Compliance Officer

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Global Chief Compliance Officer and managing a team of one
  • Develop, initiate, maintain, and revise compliance policies and procedures for the company’s North American and global operations and third-party distribution network
  • Partner with business in working with North American agencies/distributors to assist them in developing their compliance programs
  • Develop corporate compliance initiatives to track developments of law, regulations, and corporate policy
  • Design, prepare, and deliver on-site compliance training for employees and the agency/distributor network, including preparation and distribution of training materials
  • Monitor agency/distributor compliance, perform compliance audits of agency/distributor network and implementing disciplinary procedures in coordination with Legal and HR
  • Collaborate with departments such as Legal, Finance, Audit, and HR, and direct compliance issues to appropriate channels for investigation and resolution
  • Respond to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and the Code of Business Conduct by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures
  • Monitor, and as necessary, coordinate compliance activities of other departments; Keep abreast of the status of all compliance activities in North America and global subsidiaries
  • Institute and maintain an effective compliance communication program, including promoting (a) the use of the Compliance Hotline; (b) a heightened awareness of the Code of Business Conduct, and (c) an understanding of new and existing compliance issues and related policies and procedures
  • Build partnerships with business and functional stakeholders to ensure alignment with business strategies
  • Conduct and support investigations of reported compliance related issues and partner with teams, including HR and Legal, to ensure that reported concerns are promptly and thoroughly investigated, and where appropriate, implement suitable corrective and remedial actions.
  • Provide advice and interpretation of the Company’s Code of Conduct, compliance policies, relevant law and regulations, and industry codes

Requirements:

  • Essential Education: Bachelor’s Degree – Desirable: JD or Master’s Degree
  • You will have significant exposure to US and international compliance in relation to medical device business
  • You will be open to travelling at circa 30% both in the US and (when possible) internationally
