We are representing a publicly listed national healthcare company in their search for a Staff VP Compliance (sitting between Senior Director and VP Level in seniority)

Expectations first 12 months:

  • Conduct enterprise-wide compliance risk assessment, create and implement
  • Establish strong working relationships with senior executive team and various regional business leaders
  • Work closely with revenue, billing, coding and audit teams to establish a sophisticated and automated approach
  • Establish improved people structures and reimagine board-level compliance committee

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring that company product areas meet regulatory requirements in all 50 states as well as federal regulations, including Medicare Part D rules and regulations
  • Advising functional infrastructure and functional experts and providing project support to all functional areas of the business unit
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with client contracts, partner contracts (e.g., retail networks, pharmaceutical manufacturers) and vendor contracts
  • Responsible for performing risk assessments and implementing and maintaining controls
  • Coordinates with Internal Audit to direct and prioritize audits / investigations and business process evaluations to identify exposures to regulatory, financial or programmatic risks
  • Responsible for the creation of policies & procedures that cross functional areas, monitoring of compliance to those policies & procedures, development and oversight of improvement plans when existing policies / procedures fail to meet the needs of the business
  • Participates as a leader and subject matter expert on enterprise-wide mandated projects and achieves business operational compliance with all measures relative to HIPAA, SOX, and Privacy & Security Office initiatives

Requirements:

  • Essential Education:  Bachelor’s degree, JD preferable 
  • Compliance Experience: You must bring significant healthcare compliance and leadership experience
  • You must have demonstrable exposure to building/improving a large company compliance program
