We are representing a Global Transportation company in its search for a VP – Ethics & Compliance.

Expectations for first three months:

  • Assist Chief Compliance Officer & Deputy General Counsel in identifying key areas of strategic focus for the global ethics and compliance program
  • Lead the continued development of an enterprise wide business-integrated compliance program with a focus on business partnership and communication

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Chief Compliance Officer & Deputy General Counsel in developing the strategic direction and vision for the global ethics and compliance program
  • Manage and develop a global compliance team with primary locations in the US and Europe
  • Collaborate with executive and business unit leadership to drive consistency in the approach, processes and tools used across the ethics and compliance function
  • Oversee the communication efforts of the ethics and compliance program, including preparing written materials and training to promote the understanding of relevant issues, risks, laws and regulations
  • Coordinate compliance audits and the development of corrective action/quality improvement plans in collaboration with the internal audit function
  • Utilize risk assessment reports to drive targeted efforts in monitoring and auditing to ensure ethics and compliance risks are mitigated and resolved appropriately
  • Evaluate and respond to alleged violations of laws, regulations, policies, and the company code of conduct
  • Oversee third-party due diligence efforts
  • Lead the approach and execution of the global privacy program

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree, JD desirable
  • Minimum of eight years of demonstrated leadership in public company corporate compliance
  • Substantive knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including global data privacy laws
