Associate Director Global Compliance, Biotechnology, San Francisco Bay Area, CA

We are representing a biotechnology company in their search for an AD Global Compliance in Greater San Francisco.

Expectations first 12 months:

  • Conduct company-wide compliance risk assessment, identifying priorities for compliance process implementation
  • Build relationships with executive team, setting compliance tone and gaining buy-in
  • Create and own the ‘Compliance Roadmap and Vision’

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting directly to the Global Compliance Officer, leading Compliance Department worldwide in Health Care Provider contracting, compliance investigations privacy, transparency and the anti-bribery certification
  • Developing, recommending and implementing approved compliance policies and procedures, ensuring alignment in domestic and international compliance programs
  • Establish and maintain relationships and collaborate with International Legal for interpretation, impact and adherence to international laws and regulations; lead on pulling International requirements through to Global Compliance Team
  • Lead other monitoring, auditing and risk assessment activities as required, under the direction of the Global Compliance Officer
  • Draft new and propose updates to existing Compliance policies in accordance with changing business requirements, laws and regulations
  • Review Commercial HCP events, such as Speaker programs, Advisory Boards, Physician Experience Programs, Specimen Prep/Lab Services and others, making recommendations that align business objectives within compliance guidelines
  • Manage the investigation case lifecycle from intake to resolution; meet regularly with Compliance team members to obtain investigations’ status
  • Perform ongoing privacy and transparency compliance monitoring activities to ensure enterprise wide compliance with internal policies, rules and regulations pertaining to HIPAA and GDPR in consultation with the Global Privacy Officer
  • Drive cross-functional support to ensure successful launch and completion of the annual anti-bribery certification program, providing guidance and oversight to global teams

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree, JD or MBA preferred
  • Experience as a compliance professional at a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company
  • Demonstrable exposure to include compliance risk assessment, policies and procedures, monitoring and auditing, investigations and compliance training and marketing
