We are representing a rapidly growing Global Logistics company in its search for a Director Global Trade Compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to Global Chief Compliance Officer and managing a small team, you will be responsible for leading the Global Trade Compliance function
  • Lead, develop, deploy and maintain the program and a strong compliance culture across the Company globally; working with various business units to ensure compliance with all applicable trade laws and regulations
  • Provide strategic direction and technical expertise to the development of company-wide trade compliance policies and standards; Assess global trade risks and put in place risk mitigation controls
  • Lead build and maintain the global trade compliance program including risk assessments standards/policies, and training
  • Serve as most senior official for trade compliance issues and act as the key liaison with government authorities
  • Partner with other functions to ensure robust and effective compliance controls
  • Establish an audit plan and appropriate metrics
  • Develop and implement an effective trade compliance training plan for relevant business partners and functions
  • Remain current on changes to relevant global trade compliance laws and regulations

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required
  • Credentials: Experience as a US licensed customers broker / former government experience is desirable
  • You will bring substantial and demonstrable leadership of global trade compliance, with direct experience of import and export trade compliance in a multinational company
  • You will have significant experience dealing with US and other Government agencies involved in global trade compliance
  • Experience of government contracting, ITAR and anti-boycott
