Then there’s the waiting process.  You wait for an e-mail, a phone call, any means of communication that says your application hasn’t been sucked into the black hole that is the web.

Applicants want to know that someone has received and seen their job application, whether or not they’re a possible candidate.

Two-way communication is expected nowadays by job candidates as to where they stand in the hiring process.

Many companies are sending out courtesy emails as to whether the position has been filled or if there are pursuing different candidates.  There are some other criteria that job candidates are insisting upon, however.
